This presentation explores how to scale up a SAM process tailored to a modern, decentralized, SaaS-based company. In such environments, gaining a holistic view of software assets and improving data accuracy is often complex due to fragmented ownership and siloed systems. More than tools, such an endeavour requires clear structures, stakeholder alignment, and a strategic roadmap. Over 18 months, established consistent data flows, improved lifecycle transparency, and steadily expanded oversight across thousands of titles. It will also examine the successes and setbacks along the way, with a special focus on why relationship-building across the organization is critical to long-term SAM maturity. Jason leads the IT Asset Management function at Netflix, where he is responsible for building a scalable, strategic SAM program. He previously spent nearly nine years at Salesforce, most recently as Senior Director of Asset Management. Over the course of his 20+ year career, he has successfully stood up enterprise SAM programs from concept to reality, built high-performing IT teams, and delivered more than $51M in asset savings. A well-rounded IT operations leader, Jason brings deep expertise across service management, asset management, agile operations, and infrastructure.
